Discord Attachment Logging
Discord attachment logging keeps a record of files after they are gone. When a message with an image or attachment is deleted, LoggerBot logs the file name, size, the author, the channel, and a timestamp — so a deleted screenshot still leaves a paper trail.
Attachment logs pair with deleted-message logging: the message text and its files are handled together.
What LoggerBot logs
- File name — the original name of each removed attachment.
- File size — how large the file was.
- Author and channel — who posted it and where.
- Timestamp — when the attachment was removed.
- Multiple files — a message with several attachments logs each of them.
How it works
When a message is deleted, LoggerBot checks whether it carried attachments and, if so, records their metadata in the attachment log. This is separate from the message-text log so you can send media logs to their own channel — useful for support servers where screenshots matter.
Setting it up
- 1Enable the Delete Attachment log under the Messages category.
- 2Open the dashboard, pick your server, and set a main log channel — or run
/setlogallin Discord to create a channel per category automatically. See the getting-started guide. - 3Leave the category on the main channel, or point it at its own channel from Individual Log Config — the per-log setting always wins.
Frequently asked questions
Does LoggerBot store the actual files?
The attachment log records file metadata — name, size, author, channel, time. Whether the file itself is re-shown depends on your logging configuration and Discord’s own CDN retention.
Are attachments on edited messages logged?
Attachment logging is tied to deletions. Edited-message logs cover text changes.
Can media logs go to a different channel than message logs?
Yes. Delete Attachment has its own destination channel under Individual Log Config.
