Channel logs

Discord Channel Logging

Discord channel logging keeps your server structure accountable. LoggerBot logs channels being created, deleted, and renamed, permission overwrites being added or changed, thread activity, and channel follows — each entry attributed to the moderator who made the change.

Webhook changes on a channel are covered separately under webhook logging.

What LoggerBot logs

  • Channel created / deletedthe channel, its category, and the moderator.
  • Channel updatedname, topic, slowmode, and other setting changes.
  • Permission overwritespermissions added, removed, or changed for a role or member on a channel.
  • Threadsthread creation, deletion, and updates such as archive or lock.
  • Channel followswhen an announcement channel is followed or unfollowed.

How it works

Channel events come with limited detail from Discord, so LoggerBot reads the audit log to fill in who made the change and, for updates, what actually changed. Permission-overwrite logs spell out the role or member affected and which permissions moved.

Setting it up

  1. 1Enable the Channels category, or the individual create, delete, update, and permission logs.
  2. 2Open the dashboard, pick your server, and set a main log channel — or run /setlogall in Discord to create a channel per category automatically. See the getting-started guide.
  3. 3Leave the category on the main channel, or point it at its own channel from Individual Log Config — the per-log setting always wins.

Frequently asked questions

Does it log permission changes on individual channels?

Yes. Permission overwrites added, removed, or updated for a role or member on a channel are each logged with the executor.

Are thread events included?

Yes. Thread creation, deletion, and updates like archiving or locking are logged alongside channel events.

Can I log only deletions and ignore the rest?

Yes. Each channel event has its own toggle, so you can enable just Channel Delete if that is all you need.
